| An estimated 15,000
people gathered in Stoke Park for the Annual Guildford Lions
Fireworks Fiesta. With the
Mayor of Guildford Tamsy Baker in attendance the evening commenced
with a torchlight procession for the Guildhall led by the
TS Implacable
Band.
Once in Stoke Park the procession was
joined by a huge crowd in anticipation of the fireworks display
which proved once again to be spectacular and colourful barrage of
overhead delight. Afterwards Charlie Mayne's Fun provided further
opportunities for an enjoyable evening.
Guildford Lions collected about
£6,500 for their Charity Account which was considered a poor return
for such a huge crowd and the future of the event is now in
question.
The President of Guildford Lions,
Keith Hamblin, thanked all who did make a donation and also thanked
Earlex whose support made the
event possible, and 96.4 The
Eagle who also supported the Fireworks Fiesta.
