Guildford Lions Easter Show
Easter Monday 5th April 2010
This year, for the first time, the Charity Easter Show at Shalford Park featured the Festival Circus and everyone that attended the Show had an opportunity to see a live performance of it. The fast-moving spectacular featured a host of circus skills including, amazing juggling, dazzling acrobatics and, of course, the circus clown! The introduction of a circus into the Show appeared to go down very well with all those attending.
The Show also featured Jez Avery who exhibited a number of skills himself with two-wheeled stuntriding. Other attractions included the Surrey Army Cadet Force Corps of Drums, Funfair, Trade Stands, Tug-of-War, Classic Car Display and the ubiquitous Car Boot Sale.
Guests included the Guildford MP, Anne Milton, the Mayor of Guildford Councillor Pauline Searle and Bill and Doreen Bellerby.
The Show made a very modest profit that will be used by the Guildford Lions Welfare Committee to help local charities and deserving causes.
